Things will not be any easier for the Kansas basketball team when they travel to Fort Worth to play the TCU Horned Frogs.
The Kansas basketball team lost their second game at Allen Fieldhouse on Tuesday when they were thoroughly outplayed by the Texas Tech Red Raiders. It was the first time in 11 years they have lost twice at home in one season.
TCU won’t be a pushover for the Kansas Jayhawks. The Horned Frogs have lost only one game, by one point, to Oklahoma last week. TCU may not have the most talented roster in the Big 12, but Jamie Dixon has his players performing extremely well so far this season.
There is still no word on the eligibility of big men Billy Preston and Silvio De Sousa, and there probably won’t be before game time on Saturday.

KANSAS BASKETBALL NOTES
Texas Tech, who had never won in Allen Fieldhouse in 17 previous outings, outplayed the Jayhawks in just about every facet of the game, from the opening tip-off to the final horn.
KU was outrebounded by 15 and only forced ten turnovers while committing 15. The Jayhawks hit just 23.1 percent of their three-point attempts. If it wasn’t for Devonte’ Graham going 13 for 13 from the free throw line, the Jayhawks would have been run out of their own gym.
This has been the fear all season – how would this team win games if they are not hitting threes? The answer is that, right now they won’t. They don’t have many options. They don’t play enough consistently good defense for that to help them every game. They are too thin right now along the frontline, and too many players are not playing well right now.

Head Coach Bill Self has to be looking for answers but what may be the most concerning for him was the lack of fire and overall hustle against the Horned Frogs.
TCU seemed to get every loose ball, and the Jayhawks barely seemed interested in chasing down rebounds. This is unusual for a Bill Self team to look unfocused, especially at home.
It’s only one loss for the Kansas Jayhawks, but it was a home loss. This conference looks like road wins might be precious so teams cannot afford to give away games on their home floors.

The Kansas basketball team can bounce back from their disastrous game earlier this week, but they will need to play much better on the road against TCU. They must regain their focus and hustle and steal another win away from the “Phog.”
