K-State Football: Three Keys to Victory Against UCLA in Cactus Bowl
By Jake Barbee
Under Pressure
Devon Modster isn’t going to scare many on the Kansas State side and he has seen limited action during his freshman year for UCLA. Modster has appeared in just four games and has thrown for 376 yards and two touchdowns.

So what does this tell us? Well, for starters, a freshman quarterback needs to be put under constant pressure by the defense. Blitzing Modster will force him to either get rid of the ball quickly and make a bad throw or to hold onto the football too long and get dropped.
If the Wildcats can get some heat on Modster, then this game should easily go in Kansas State’s favor. They’ve shown the ability to put some hits on opposing signal callers and the KSU defense should be licking their chops now that Josh Rosen won’t be representing the Bruins at quarterback.
Rosen would have been a scarier force for UCLA, but fortunately, the Wildcats won’t have to worry about him making plays in the Cactus Bowl. Now, the Cats just have to make sure Devon Modster is still a nobody after Tuesday’s game.

If the Kansas State Wildcats can take advantage of these three areas, they’ll have a good shot at taking down the UCLA Bruins in the Cactus Bowl.
