Kansas Basketball has acquired a lot of hardware over the storied history of the program. Making the Fandom 250 list is their most recent accolade.

If you have ever been able to witness Kansas Basketball play within the confines of Allen Fieldhouse, the Jayhawks would be right up there with their neighbor to the Northeast, the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs came in ranked 30th, while the Jayhawks sit at 129th.

Still, it should be an honor to be included among the greatest fans throughout the world. This includes all things worthy of being a fan. Professional sports, Collegiate and international sports, television shows, movies, music and more.

Kansas Basketball has quite possibly the best home field advantage in all of sports, which should put them higher on this list. Kansas Football is one of the worst programs in FBS history, which probably holds their number here in the hundreds. Still, the Jayhawks fans find themselves among the elite.

The Jayhawks also own the record for loudest crowd roar in an indoor sports event. That’s the loudest across the earth, indoors. Of course, their neighbor to the Northeast holds the record for the loudest crowd roar in an outdoor sporting event. People in the area are loud mouths apparently.

How tough is it to play against the Jayhawks in Allen Fieldhouse? They have more consecutive Big 12 championships than home losses in the Bill Self era. Let that resonate. Those numbers are just ridiculous.

12th isn’t bad, but they’re better than that

The college rankings for Fandom 250 is broad, as the Jayhawks come in just behind the Michigan Wolverines and Penn State Nittany Lions, both obviously there because of their football programs. They come in ahead of teams such as the Florida State Seminoles and the Texas Longhorns.

Three Big 12 teams were selected this year. Joining the Jayhawks and Longhorns are the Oklahoma Sooners, who are 5th in the college rankings. Interestingly, Kansas was 12th last year as well.

Kansas Basketball finds themselves in between some really good company this year. Popular musicians such as Adele and Katy Perry and corporate coffee god Starbucks come before the Jayhawks. Also edging out the Jayhawks was the Despicable Me franchise and Lego. The Jayhawks had better rankings than Oprah, Justin Timberlake and the Simpsons.

Jayhawks fans have some work to do.

If there is anything about the rankings that would upset you it should be the fact Kansas comes behind two specific teams. These two teams are rivals in the sense that they when it comes to winning tradition and the poster teams of college basketball, they threaten Kansas. The Kentucky Wildcats and Duke Blue Devils both rank better in the Fandom 250.

Now you and I may agree that Kansas fans are by far the best fans in college basketball. What proof do you need more than home records and noises. There is a false narrative out there where people actually think these teams fans are better than those who follow the most historic team in perhaps all of college sports.
