Kansas City Chiefs come in at 30 in Fandom 250 rankings
By Ben Almquist
The Kansas City Chiefs enjoy a strong fan base backing them. In fact, the latest Fandom 250 rankings put Chiefs Kingdom as one of the best fan bases in the world.
You don’t have to tell Chiefs Kingdom that they are some of the best fans in the world. The fan base of the Kansas City Chiefs is loud and proud in their support of the team. That support has been verified once again in the Fandom 250 rankings, where the Chiefs placed 30th in all fan bases, and fourth in the NFL.
On its surface, 30th might not sound all that impressive to some. However, you have to understand that FanSided isn’t just talking about the NFL, football, or sports in general. This is every fan base you can imagine. TV shows, movies, video games, music, and just about everything else you can imagine. So Chiefs fans should take some pride.
This is just another accolade for Chiefs Kingdom. This fan base still holds the Guinness record for noise at an outdoor stadium, and is continuously praised by announcers for their tailgating expertise. Great tailgating and making noise will do a lot for your reputation as a fan base.
4th In The NFL
Coming in as fourth out of all 32 NFL fan bases should be an honor for Kansas City Chiefs fans…but we know we want better. Settling for scraps might be good enough for Raider Nation (who came in fifth, by the way), but this is Chiefs Kingdom. You can bet that KC fans will find a way to climb to the top.
So which teams came in ahead of the Chiefs on the fan base rankings? The Packers, Cowboys, and Steelers. Ok, so that’s a tough list to crack.

Packer fans (3rd NFL/23rd overall) are actually stakeholders in their team, and brave the elements every year in a small town. Cowboys fans (2nd NFL/13th overall) suck…but exist in huge numbers everywhere you go. Then there are Steelers fans (1st NFL/9th overall) who manage to make themselves heard at away games. Hard to say any of those groups don’t deserve a high position.
Who Else Is In The Mix?
Interestingly enough, the Kansas City Chiefs fell right in the middle of a stretch of sports teams. I’ve already mentioned that Chiefs Kingdom beat out Raider Nation…of course, that’s really something that can’t be stated enough. The Chiefs also finished ahead of international soccer powerhouse Barcelona.

On the other end, Kansas City placed just behind the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and another international soccer power, Real Madrid. That really is some impressive company for Chiefs Kingdom. It speaks to just how strong this fan base really is.
As far as non-sports team fan bases that placed similarly to the Chiefs, Pokemon and Marvel Comics were the closest two. Pokemon (33rd overall) is an internationally renowned video game franchise. Marvel Comics (27th overall) is big enough to have its own division at Disney Studios. Again, not too shabby when it comes to where KC fans placed.
Still, Chiefs fans are actual world record holders, so you know they bring their own level of hype to this. With the postseason at our doorstep, there remains time for the fan base to leave their mark on the sports and entertainment world. Time to make some noise…again.
