Kansas Basketball has a monster class coming in 2018. Over the course of the next couple of weeks we will take a look at what they bring to the table.

Kansas Basketball landed yet another recruit in November, this time landing phenom point guard Quentin Grimes. Grimes joins what should be the best recruiting class Bill Self has had at Kansas, or anywhere.

Quentin Grimes is a five-star point guard from The Woodlands, Texas. ESPN has him ranked as the 13th overall player in the country. He’s widely considered the number one point guard in the 2018 class.

The future of the Kansas Basketball looks like it’s in good hands with not only Grimes, but early 2019 commit, point guard Markese Jacobs.

Perhaps you still aren’t impressed, then take a look at Grimes 51 point performance.

There’s that very good chance he will be a one and done for the Jayhawks, but fans are doing to that now and have learned to embrace them. The incoming freshmen and transfers will take the Jayhawks from having a very thin bench to one loaded with talent.

The way Kansas has played so far this season makes some wonder if the streak of Big 12 titles will ever come to an end, and right now, there should no end in sight.

Grimes numbers

Grimes has averaged over 28 points per game while shooting over 60% from the field his junior and senior years so far. He is a 35% career three-point shooter in high school. He attends College Park High School in The Woodlands, Texas.

The 6’5″, 215 pound senior shooting guard was recruited heavily by all the traditional big recruiters. Kansas Basketball’s future looks bright, well beyond 2018 as Bill Self continues his Hall of Fame career. Although the 2017 Jayhawks remain unbeaten and are once again contending for a title, the 2018 squad looks like they have the potential of being one of the best teams ever in college basketball.

Grimes is the second five-star recruit that Self has gotten a commitment from, joining Devon Dotson. Self is still deep in talks with the 2nd overall recruit Zion Williamson and five-star shooting guard Romeo Langford.
