The Missouri Tigers will finish 9-3?!
This is undoubtedly the boldest of predictions in a column about bold predictions.
For Mizzou football to go from a record of 4-8 to 9-3 would be astonishing. Honestly, I believe there’s a chance for this to occur or I would not be writing it.
Breaking down Mizzou’s schedule once again, the Tigers’ non-conference slate looks very winnable with games against Missouri State, Purdue, Idaho, and UConn. Of the four, Purdue is the only school from a Power 5 conference and the Boilermakers went 3-9 last season in the Big Ten.

From there, we leap into SEC play and that’s where the competition will increase for the Tigers. Still, with that being said, the hardest game in SEC play should be against Auburn. Lucky for Mizzou, that won’t affect their record against SEC East teams.
I fully expect the Tigers to dispatch of South Carolina, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Arkansas without much trouble. The games that give me pause, as previously mentioned, are against Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee. It’s feasible, however, for MU to win one of those games; likely against Florida.
To summarize, that means Mizzou loses to Auburn, Georgia, and Tennessee in 2017. That might not be good enough to represent the SEC East in the Championship Game.

Should all of these bold predictions come to pass, however, I’m sure Missouri fans would be very happy with the sudden turnaround of their program.
