Kansas City Chiefs: Cam Erving Trade

Looking Ahead

By no means do I think that Kansas City Chiefs GM Brett Veach is done yet. Veach has already shown that he will be aggressive in the KC front office. With there still being some concerns on the roster, expect to hear the Chiefs make at least one more deal before the cut deadline on Saturday.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

As for Cam Erving, I would expect he makes the Chiefs roster. Erving is under contract for both this year and 2018, so that gives Kansas City control over him and time to make further moves and decisions. I don’t foresee Erving becoming a starter for KC, but he should be a valuable backup.

Kansas City has built a pretty strong offensive line group, and have many of their players locked up through next year. That is an excellent position to be in for the Chiefs front office as the offensive line has become one of the toughest position groups to build into a strong unit. It says a lot about the job this team has done in creating a sustainable model for success.

Kansas City Chiefs fans have a lot to be excited about for the 2017 season and beyond. The Chiefs have built a very strong roster, but are clearly not content to sit back and see what happens. This team has become very aggressive in seeking out talent that will help build a strong franchise both for the short and long-term.
