Fantasy Football Quarterbacks to Target in 2017 – Number 10: PHILIP RIVERS

2016 Ranking: 14th

We’re now getting to the quarterbacks that you can select between the eighth and 11th round of your fantasy football draft. Tenth on this list is Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, who last year threw for 4,386 yards.

Rivers is normally a great fantasy quarterback to have because of how much he loves to throw the football around. Last season, however, Rivers threw a career high number of interceptions (21 to be exact), so if you play in a league where you lose points for picks, maybe steer clear of Rivers.

Rivers did, however, throw 33 touchdowns a season ago, which was the most he’s thrown in a season since 2008. This is even more impressive when you consider that the Chargers quarterback was without Keenan Allen and really didn’t have many weapons on the field. He also had a pretty crummy offensive line.

This season, Rivers has a young up and coming tight end in Hunter Henry and should have Allen back. If rookie Mike Williams can take the field at all this season, then consider Rivers to be one of the best quarterbacks to have in fantasy football because he’ll have plenty of options down the field.

As I mentioned in the first paragraph, Philip Rivers is a safe draft pick between the eighth and 11th rounds. If people start to make a run on quarterbacks, that’s when you should target him.
