Ok, this is probably one of those situations where the depth chart doesn’t mean that much for the Kansas City Chiefs. Throughout the offseason, Demarcus Robinson has been impressing just about everyone. He’s also been getting the bulk of the work as the third receiver in the first team offense.
On the other hand, the Chiefs clearly like Albert Wilson more than most of the fan base does. Wilson is always a likely candidate to be predicted as a “surprise cut”. However, he continues to stick on the roster and he’s come through in some big moments for this team.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Albert Wilson makes the Chiefs roster this year. However, it would surprise me if he truly gets more work that Demarcus Robinson. At some point, talent has to take over and Robinson has more talent than Wilson. Hopefully the coaches are just trying to bring him on slowly.
The Kansas City Chiefs look to have a very strong roster for the 2017 season. This is just the first look at the depth chart, and we are told every year not to read too much into it. Still, we just can’t help ourselves as this is the first sign of what the coaching staff is seeing right now. That, of course, means there are bound to be surprises.
