The Royals rumors very well could change from the Kansas City Royals being sellers to buyers. Buster Olney has penned an article stating that the Royals will not be shipping their star players off at the deadline.

From a rotten start in the 2017 season to at one point being ten games under .500, all hope seemed to be lost for the Kansas City Royals. It seemed apparent that the star players were going to be traded to other teams long before the deadline even approached.

Now, however, those Royals rumors are going to have to stop, as Buster Olney of ESPN wrote that Dayton Moore and the team won’t be sending the big time players anywhere.

"The players still have this time together, about 90 more regular-season games and any postseason games they might create. Moore, the man who always understood this was temporary, is not going to shut down the show in the middle of the final act."

The article touches mostly on Eric Hosmer‘s draft process and then Moore turning the team into a World Series winner over the last few years. Olney mentions in the article that the Royals are well-aware they won’t be able to sign all of their free agents, which should come as a shock to no one.

What I took out of this post, however, was that Dayton Moore isn’t going to trade these guys because he still believes there’s a chance he can retain them and keep them in Royal blue. If the Royals stand pat at the deadline and don’t send anyone off to another team and then miss out on the playoffs, sure, we’ll all be bummed, but at least the Royals went for it.

More from KC Kingdom

Over the past several years, Kansas City has learned to trust Dayton Moore. If Dayton Moore thinks something is the right move for the team, then who are we to argue his decision? He took this team who was in the dumpster in the MLB for well over two decades and turned them into a World Series team. That, my friends, is impressive.

Considering what the Kansas City Chiefs have going on with firing their general manager, it’d be even sillier for Royals fans to doubt Dayton Moore. If he thinks that holding onto the stars past the deadline is the best bet for the Royals, then that’s the best bet.

If the KC Royals start to slump in these next few weeks, however, the Royals rumors will start surfacing again, you can count on that.

For now though, let’s just appreciate the good moments that Dayton Moore has provided our baseball team with. He’s made good decisions and the fan base has no reason not to trust him.

What do you think, Royals fans? Are you glad to see that the stars are likely off the table for the trade deadline?
