While people tend to focus on the negative storylines, sometimes it’s better to just sit back and look at what went right for a team. The Chiefs have their fair share of negatives, but also did quite well this offseason.

More from KC Kingdom

Many crapped on the Kansas City Chiefs for not being super active in free agency, but where did they really need to add to? Sure, their cornerbacks could use some bolstering, but none of the free agents really could have added a whole lot more.

The Chiefs also got shade for trading up for Mahomes, but I’ll defend that move even if the Texas Tech quarterback doesn’t pan out in Kansas City. I’m never going to fault my team for being aggressive in getting a player they really want, especially at a key position.

The last big negative story was Jamaal Charles signing with the Broncos. Charles made it worse by saying things like “I’ve always wanted to play for the Broncos”, but fans shouldn’t be salty at him. The Chiefs didn’t want him, so he moved on and signed with one of the few teams that feigned interest in him. He might not even make their team!

At the end of the day, I like where this Chiefs team is headed and am super excited for another competitive season in 2017!
