From all of the internet patrolling I did, I couldn’t find any bad grades on the Chiefs’ draft, though I’m sure they’re out there. They were mostly good to average grades, which any fan will take.

I’ll be releasing my draft grades within the next few days, but overall I’d probably give the Chiefs somewhere in the B range. They had some areas that needed to be addressed that weren’t.

More from KC Kingdom

At the same time though, the Chiefs added their quarterback of the future in Patrick Mahomes and that’s been something Chiefs Kingdom has been begging for for years now. Some people might think the Chiefs gave up too much to acquire Mahomes, but I think they got a pretty good deal honestly.

More than likely, the Chiefs will be picking late in the first round of next year’s draft and therefore, it might not be a huge deal. If Kansas City decides there’s someone they like, then they can always trade back into the first if need be.

I wasn’t huge on the Tanoh Kpassagnon and Jehu Chesson selections mainly because better talent seemed to be on the board at those positions at the time, but I also don’t scout as heavily as Chiefs management does.

I loved the Kareem Hunt pick though and I think he’ll be a great running back for the Chiefs for years to come, even if he isn’t the main starter in 2017.

What do you think, Chiefs fans? Did you like what the Chiefs did in the 2017 NFL Draft?
