2017 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Mock Draft

Kansas City Chiefs – Ben Almquist

Charles Harris. 27. player. 124. The Kansas City Chiefs pass rush was disappointing in 2016. Outside of a five game stretch, Dee Ford hasn’t shown much. The Chiefs recognize this as they have shown a lot of interest in pass rushers. The best two players on the board are both edge rushers in Charles Harris and Derek Barnett. KC goes with the local boy to line up on the right side.. Outside Linebacker. Missouri

KC Kingdom Scouting Report:

It’s not unfair to say that Charles Harris was a rare bright spot for the Mizzou Tigers last year. The stud pass rusher was consistently the best player on the field for the team. Harris brings a phenomenal first step and excellent snap anticipation that gives him an immediate advantage over opposing blockers.

Insider Talk – NFL.com:

“Don’t get caught up in his numbers this year. He just didn’t mesh with what they asked him to do. He’s also got to be coachable and I think he may have fought the changes a little too much. What I saw in 2015 is what I think he’s going to be.” NFC North regional scout

Staff Reaction:

Charles Harris is a great pick at 27th overall. Harris has a great first step in addition to awesome speed around the edge. With Justin Houston spending time on the sidelines over the past two seasons, another good OLB to go along with an improving Dee Ford is what the Chiefs need to further bolster their defense. ~ Jesse Holt
