KC Royals news consists of the Royals turning things around against the Houston Astros and putting up seven runs in Game 2 of the series. Is this red hot offense here to stay? Let’s hope so!

After a rough opening series against the Minnesota Twins, the Kansas City Royals have managed to calm the fan base down after winning their first series of the season, this one against the Houston Astros.

The series against the Twins had a combination of a bad bullpen, weak offense, and (aside from Danny Duffy) mediocre starting pitching. This series against the Astros has been a completely different story, and Game 2 showed just how lethal this offense can be, as they scored six runs in the seventh inning.

That seventh inning had been terrible to the Kansas City Royals in the first series, but they’ve turned it into their clutch inning in the series against Houston.

Dallas Keuchel took the mound for the Astros and spun six innings of one-run ball. The one run came off of a Cheslor Cuthbert home run in the fifth inning.

Once Keuchel was out of the game and Luke Gregerson entered, however, the Royals lineup pounced. Alcides Escobar walked for the first time this season and then Mike Moustakas (who was pinch hitting) singled. Raul Mondesi Jr. pinch ran for Moose, and then Alex Gordon provided another clutch hit (he had the big hit on Friday night as well) to score both of those runners.

From there, Lorenzo Cain singled to score Gordo from second base, Eric Hosmer hit a two-run home run, and Salvador Perez hit his third home run of the year to put the Royals up 7-2.

The Royals would go on to win 7-3 in a game that allowed the fan base to exhale. After the rough opening series, fans were already panicking, but this team has fought back and is now 2-3 on the year.

It’s nice to see the Kansas City Royals get back on track. Hopefully this hot-hitting offense will decide to stick around for awhile because… Well, because it’s more fun than watching the Royals score one run. I don’t think I’m in the minority there.

It’s also worth noting that Danny Duffy had another great game for the Royals. He twirled seven innings and only allowed two runs off of eight hits while striking out three batters. Duffman has been clutch for the boys in blue thus far.

Game 2 against Houston was a preview of what this lineup could turn into this season. Now we just have to keep our fingers crossed that Brandon Moss can figure it out and that Jorge Soler can get healthy and hit for power.

What do you think, Royals fans? Are we in for a treat with a lineup or was this just a one-hit wonder for Kansas City?
