Worst John Dorsey Picks For The Kansas City Chiefs #1

KeiVarae Russell – CB: 3rd Round of 2016 NFL Draft

More from Chiefs Draft Analysis

We may never truly know why the Kansas City Chiefs decided to move on from KeiVarae Russell. However a third round pick not lasting even one full season is an easy pick for the top spot on this list. This is clearly one selection that John Dorsey wishes he had back.

Things seemed to be going along fine for KeiVarae Russell and the Kansas City Chiefs. Russell made the roster out of Training Camp, though he didn’t appear to be high up on the depth chart. There was really no reason given as to what went wrong. Russell now plays for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Who Could They Have Had?

It’s too early to have any idea who will really end up being a good player from the middle rounds of this draft. So really this is a “take your pick” situation. However, the fact that KeiVarae Russell was a third round pick means that there will likely be several players were missed on. This turned out to be an awful pick.

Overall, John Dorsey has done a phenomenal job of drafting during his time with the Kansas City Chiefs. You would be hard-pressed to find another GM who has done as well. I mean, this is a top 10 list that I couldn’t even really find 10 names for. That’s pretty impressive work. Hopefully, that will continue in the 2017 NFL Draft.
