Eric Berry – S

You can’t mention Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry in the city of Atlanta without seeing someone shudder. The man is giving people nightmares. It’s a similar reaction in Charlotte. Fans of the Panthers also remember how Berry stole the game away from them with a late interception. That just seems to be what Eric Berry is going to do this year.

It’s also why Berry is a strong candidate for Defensive Player of the Year. The star safety for the Chiefs has come up with big time plays at crucial moments several times this year. Not only in terms of getting the interception, but also in turning those interceptions into points. When you have a safety that is a threat to score, it makes opposing offenses much more conservative.

Tom Brady isn’t afraid of any defensive player in the league, but he will certainly be sure to locate Eric Berry on just about every play. If the Chiefs defender gets his hands on the ball, it can turn an entire game around in just a matter of seconds.
