The Kansas City Chiefs continue their home stand this week, hosting the Tennessee Titans. Here is how you can follow the action.

The Kansas City Chiefs have been on a roll in recent weeks. The Chiefs have knocked off the Broncos, Falcons, and Raiders in consecutive weeks. With a streak like that, the pundits and analysts have had to take notice of Kansas City. The Chiefs now take on the Tennessee Titans with a chance to clinch their spot in the playoffs.

Kansas City is coming off of a Thursday night game. That means Andy Reid has had extra time to put together a game plan, while the players have had extra time to get healthy. That’s good news for a Chiefs team that has been pretty beat up this season.

Of course, the big thing for Chiefs fans this week is how the team replaces star linebacker Derrick Johnson. Johnson ruptured his Achilles this past week leaving the Chiefs short at inside linebacker. The team will apparently be giving a tryout to either DJ Alexander or Frank Zombo this week. If the move pans out, KC could be in position to bring back Jamaal Charles for a postseason run.

Clinching A Playoff Spot

Win and they are in. It is that simple for the Kansas City Chiefs this week. After knocking off the Oakland Raiders last week on Thursday night, the Chiefs are in complete control of their destiny. As it stands, KC owns the second seed in the AFC playoff picture. Securing their spot in the postseason is the next step.

There isn’t much of a chance that the Chiefs will surpass the Patriots for the top seed in the AFC. New England has to lose two games for the Chiefs to jump ahead of them. With the Pats remaining schedule, that seems unlikely. However, the Chiefs can still secure a first round BYE in the playoffs.

On the other end, the Chiefs cannot afford a loss right now. Despite the fact the Chiefs have beaten the Raiders twice, the teams have an identical record. That means if KC loses and Oakland doesn’t, the Chiefs will fall into second place in the AFC West. While Kansas City is a strong team, they do not want to be on the road throughout the playoffs. Best way to avoid that is to just win.

The Kansas City Chiefs have proven that they are a very good team. A 2016 postseason run seems very likely at this point. In fact, the team is starting to get some hype as a Super Bowl contender. If the Chiefs play up to their ability, that is a very plausible outcome for this year. Chiefs Kingdom is getting excited, and with plenty of reason.
