KC Chiefs Vs Atlanta Falcons: Rating the Match-Ups
Secondary
This one could be tricky. Phillip Gaines got absolutely demolished by a Broncos quarterback who had trouble with accurate throws in college. That dude torched Gaines on Sunday and it wasn’t pretty.

On the other side of the field is Marcus Peters though, who makes up for Gaines’ struggles. The Broncos wanted NO PART of throwing at Peters and that’s what makes the other cornerback such a liability. He’s going to be thrown at all day long.
Matt Ryan doesn’t strike me as the type of quarterback to ignore throwing at a corner. He’ll make throws at Peters, so this could be a game in which Peters gets picked on a bit more than usual.
The Falcons and Chiefs are both in the top ten as far as total yards allowed, with the Chiefs at 27th and the Falcons at 26th. The Cardinals ranked first and got torched by the Falcons last week, so this could be a bad game for the Chiefs secondary.
For that reason alone and considering who the Chiefs are facing at quarterback, I’ll give Atlanta the edge here. We know Alex Smith isn’t going to expose their weak secondary.
