At the end of the day, a win is a win and we can’t ask for much more from our teams. The KC Chiefs went into Denver as an underdog and left with a win. They’re now 8-3 on the season with important division games on the horizon.

These last five games are going to be fun. The Chiefs have three AFC West match-ups left and if they sweep those, they’ll go 6-0 in the division. That’d be amazing.

Oakland still leads the division at 9-2, but they have road games against the Chiefs and the Broncos. The Chiefs get Oakland and Denver at Arrowhead in the coming weeks, both of those taking place in primetime. We all know how rowdy Arrowhead is during primetime.

I’ll be the first to admit that I didn’t have a lot of faith in the Chiefs on Sunday. When Fowler got that long touchdown, I was contemplating writing another “WOE IS US. WE SUCK IN PRIMETIME. WE SUCK PERIOD. CRY CRY CRY.” post that I seem to be accused of doing a lot on here, but would any of you have really blamed me?

This offense did nothing in the first three and a half quarters of the game. Yet when it mattered the most, Alex stepped up and led the team down the field and they won it in overtime.

There were other good aspects to this game too. The pass rush generated five sacks (three coming from Justin Houston) and honestly – Rakeem Nunez-Roches is making a case to be a starter next year. He’s been playing really, really well.

Next up are the Atlanta Falcons, who know how to score. Gaines better be extra prepared next weekend or else… Yikes. You thought Trevor Siemian looked good against him? Try having Matt Ryan pick on him. I’d rather not.

All in all though – A good win for a good football team. They keep cranking out these wins and now all we need is for Oakland to lose a few games down the stretch. That’d be nice to have a playoff game at Arrowhead in January.
