The Kansas City Chiefs host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week at Arrowhead Stadium. Here are all the details you need to be able to follow the game.

The Kansas City Chiefs have won their last five games and are looking to notch number six in a row against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs, on the other hand, are sitting at 4-5 hoping to keep their playoff chances alive. Kansas City needs to win this game against an inferior opponent to keep atop the AFC West.

The Chiefs are heavily favored this week, as they should be.  Tampa Bay struggles against the run, and the Chiefs run the ball. Jameis Winston throws interceptions and the Chiefs defense leads the league in picks and turnover differential. The Chiefs are also emerging as a top pass rushing squad, while the Bucs struggle to protect Winston. This is the exact kind of match up KC likes.

Of course, this game is also a prime opportunity for a let down performance. The Chiefs have a tough stretch of games ahead of them with the Broncos, Falcons, and Raiders next in line. It wouldn’t be difficult for the team to overlook a struggling Buccaneers squad. If that happens, KC could end up coming out flat and dropping a game they should win.

Chiefs Sit Atop The AFC West

The Kansas City Chiefs are currently sitting in first place in the AFC West, and hold the #2 spot in the AFC overall. That is a powerful position to be in, but it also means teams will be gunning for them. KC owns the lead in the AFC West due to a head to head win against Oakland, so their position is not cemented there. The Chiefs have to keep winning.

Of course, the news that has Chiefs Kingdom really excited this week is the potential return of star linebacker Justin Houston. Dee Ford has emerged as a quality pass rusher this season, but fans are still pining for the return of Houston. Those two on the field at the same time has to be a scary thought.

Here’s some bulletin board material for you. Jameis Winston apparently doesn’t think much of the Chiefs home field advantage at Arrowhead Stadium. Funny, considering neither he or any of his linemen have ever played in KC. I have a feeling he’s about to learn a very tough lesson. Surely Philip Rivers is having a good chuckle about those comments.

The Kansas City Chiefs look to continue their march to the playoffs. This winning streak has been huge for KC so far, and they need to keep it going. A win over the Bucs this week would make it four years of no losing seasons in Kansas City for Andy Reid and John Dorsey. That would put them in some elite company in KC sports history.
