Potential Landing Spots for Morales – Number 3: Oakland Athletics

In true fashion, it only makes sense for Morales to follow Billy Butler everywhere he went, right? Butler didn’t make it through his three-year deal in Oakland and was released in September by the club.

The roster move signifies the designated hitter position being open in Oakland, and Morales could be a nice solution to that problem.

Oakland has been atrocious over the past two seasons (ever since the Royals came back and defeated them in the 2014 Wild Card game) and a hot bat like Morales could be just what the doctor ordered in the bay.

Morales would join former teammate Ryan Madson, who joined the A’s last offseason and had a nice year out there. He’d help that lineup get some juice and would solve their problem of not having an every day designated hitter.

This is one of the scenarios that I could see happening, but the Athletics are one of the smaller market teams. It’ll be interesting to see if they make a case to Kendrys this winter.
