Kansas City Chiefs: Intriguing QB Situation Brews For Chiefs
By Ben Almquist
Is This The Nick Foles Era?
It has to be mentioned. The Kansas City Chiefs could very well decide to move forward with Nick Foles as their starting quarterback. It is a move that would seem a little cold-blooded towards Alex Smith, but it still has to be considered. If Andy Reid feels his team is better with Foles at the helm, then that is a call he should make.

We can’t forget that Foles and Reid have a history together. We also can’t forget that Foles has put together an impressive season as a starting quarterback before. The Chiefs were pretty quick to bring Nick Foles into town after he was released by the St Louis Rams. Sometimes a quarterback just needs he right coach…as was the case with Alex Smith.
Personally, I don’t see this happening. Especially not off the performance of just one game. Nick Foles had a good day, but Alex Smith has led the Chiefs to quite a bit of success. However, the longer Alex Smith is out, the more likely this scenario becomes. If Smith misses the next few games and the Chiefs keep winning, they may have to ride the hot hand.

The Kansas City Chiefs have a very solid situation at quarterback. This is a good problem to have. However, it still needs to be handled quickly by both the coaching staff and the front office. The Chiefs have to make sure they are clear and united in whatever decision they decide to make. Personally, I don’t think it makes sense to bench Smith…at least not for now.
