What would a Q&A segment be if I didn’t ask for our opponent’s prediction for the game?

LO: What is your prediction for this game?

BH: This pick no doubt will bring out the “homer pick” accusations from your readers, but I think this is a “winnable” game for the Saints. The key will be getting out to an early lead; and then keeping the score close enough throughout the entire contest so that at the very least, they have a shot at pulling it out at the end.

As I mentioned, if they somehow manage to hold the Chiefs to somewhere in the mid-20’s, then this is a game that the Saints can walk away from, victorious. Saints 27, Chiefs 24.

I think this game could go a variety of ways, but I don’t see the Saints coming out victorious in this one. Brees is a great quarterback, but we’ve seen time and time again that that isn’t helping the Saints when push comes to shove.

With the Chiefs defense being one of the tougher units the Saints have faced, I could see the younger guys on the offense underperforming a bit.

I will stick with my preseason prediction of a 30-13 victory. When I originally made the prediction, the Saints were healthy on defense, and now they have guys from the streets playing on their defense. Gotta love that match-up if you’re a Chiefs fan.
