This season didn’t go the way we planned it, but no one can take the magical ride we had from 2014 until the team had their parade in 2015 after winning the World Series.

It’s tough to make it to the World Series and even tougher to win it. The Kansas City Royals went to back-to-back World Series and won it all in 2015. Had they won it in 2014, it’s doubtful that they’d have gone on that crazy ride in 2015.

All in all though, I expect this team to be right back in World Series contention in 2017. They’ll have a healthy and fully rested roster, ready to compete and get back out there after having an October off for the first time in three years.

These moments aren’t as memorable as winning a World Series, but what is? Maybe the Wild Card game since that’s what started it all, but nothing else even comes close.

That moment when Eric Hosmer stole home to tie the game up in New York was iconic. The image of him sliding into home plate with the distraught Mets fans in the background is one of my favorite moments from the World Series last year.

I could honestly talk about 2014 and 2015 all day long. Those were the most fun sports memories I have and I even got to enjoy my Saints winning a Super Bowl in 2010. That wasn’t quite as special though because it wasn’t my hometown team. The Royals have always been my baseball team and they’ve been a ton of fun to watch over the past few years.

I’ll never forget those playoff watch parties I went to the last two years. I definitely won’t forget driving home after midnight last year when the Royals won the World Series in extra innings. It was a moment like none other and I urge all of you to stay excited, stay hungry, and stay Forever Royal. We’ve got unfinished business yet again in 2017.
