Jesse Ertz needs to have the best game of his career

Junior quarterback Jesse Ertz has looked pretty dang good over his last two starts, but those were against Florida Atlantic and Missouri State. Ertz was actually pulled near the end of the first half of the Missouri State game due to the big lead.

When he played Stanford, however, Ertz looked petrified the entire time. It was his first start in a year, but the Iowa native couldn’t seem to get his offense going.

If Ertz has another poor beginning of a game like he did against the Cardinal, then this could be a long game in Morgantown. It’ll be a big test for Ertz, as he’s played cupcake opponents the last two weeks and now has a chance to prove himself against a conference rival.

Jesse Ertz leading the Kansas State Wildcats to victory in their first road Big 12 game of the season would be huge and would cement him as the team’s go-to guy down the stretch.

Ertz will be going up against a defense that allowed 32 points to BYU last week and could still be feeling a bit of a hangover from that game. Ertz needs to attack early and not let his guard down in this one, and it could result in a Wildcat W.
