R.A. Dickey
R.A. Dickey might be one of the older pitchers in the major leagues (he’ll be 42 at the end of October), but the knuckleball pitcher is still effective.

Recent Royals fans might remember Dickey for getting rocked during Game 4 of the ALCS last year, but the long time veteran has had success in the majors. His best year came in 2012 with the New York Mets, when he twirled over 233 innings with a 20-6 record and 2.73 ERA.
The 2012 season wasn’t all that long ago, but Dickey has dropped off since joining the Blue Jays in 2013. He currently has a 4.46 ERA with Toronto, and his current ERA sits at 4.01.
Dickey wouldn’t be signed to anything longer than a one-year deal, but perhaps Kauffman Stadium could be a great place for him to pitch in. He’s struggling with Toronto and their park is such a batter’s park, it might bode well for him to pitch in a pitcher’s park to wrap up his long career.
This wouldn’t necessarily be a flashy signing, but R.A. Dickey has had recent success in the major leagues, and that’s big.
