The Kansas City Royals keep rolling. It seems as if the playoff mojo is back and in full force. The wins keep coming and the team’s playoff chances look brighter.

The Kansas City Royals succeeded on the road the last two series. The men in blue found a way to win four out of six games taking two of three in Miami and Boston. Both Miami and Boston are above .500 teams and could be playoff bound come October.

It’s safe to say the road trip went exactly as Royals fans would hope for. Before the road trip began, I wanted the Royals to go 4-2 and they did. This is huge when it comes to playoff hopes for the good guys.

The KC Royals are three games back of the Baltimore Orioles for the second Wild Card spot. Kansas City sits just 5.5 games behind the first place Cleveland Indians in the American League Central Division.

This Twitter post seems accurate to me.

The Cleveland Indians should be scared of the defending World Series Champions. Kansas City is hot on Detroit and Cleveland’s tails. The KC Royals are one game back of the Detroit Tigers for second place and 5.5 games out of first place in the Central Division. Watch out Cleveland and Detroit. Objects in mirror are closer than they appear.

Baseball Prospectus gives the Kansas City Royals an 11.8 percent chance to make the playoffs. It says the Royals have a 2.5 percent chance to win the division and an 9.3 percent chance to take one of the two Wild Card slots.

The Kansas City Royals are getting a little more national attention on a daily basis now. Buster Olney of ESPN said the Royals seem dangerous.

Sometimes the eye test proves the numbers wrong. In the case of the Kansas City Royals, this has been true for the past two years plus. The team carries an energy and a belief in themselves. The men in the clubhouse never give up no matter the odds. That’s why Kansas City loves the Royals.

MLB.com correspondent, Richard Justice, gives the Royals due respect on Twitter as well. He drops some serious facts this morning.

It’s nice to see the national media folks finally beginning to believe this team is for real again. The horrifying July was an anomaly. Kansas City went 7-19 in July and didn’t win back-to-back wins at all. Now the team is 19-7 in August after dismantling the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park 10 to 4 last night.

Even better news is the KC Royals will receive reinforcements come September 1st. Guys like Whit Merrifield, Wade Davis and Hunter Dozier should be called up to help this team continue to win in the critical month of September.

More from KC Kingdom

The bullpen won’t need to worry about being taxed thanks to the amount of guys Ned Yost and company can mix and match with in September. Also everyday players like Salvador Perez, Alcides Escobar, Eric Hosmer and more can get a day off for rest here and there when the reinforcements arrive.

The Kansas City Royals face 15 teams above and 17 teams below .500 for the remainder of the schedule. The Royals take on the New York Yankees tonight at home for the first of a three game series. The next 12 games against above .500 teams will come against the Cleveland Indians for six and the Detroit Tigers for six.

The 17 games against below .500 teams are against the Twins for six, White Sox for seven and the A’s for four games. The schedule doesn’t look too tough for the Kansas City Royals to have an actual chance of returning to the playoffs for the third year in a row.

Every game for here on out is essentially a playoff game for the Kansas City Royals. The team is fun to watch again. Enjoy baseball while it’s still here Royals fans. Hopefully the Kansas City will be in front of Detroit come next week. Keep up the good work Royals.
