Kansas City Chiefs Top Ten Players Who Need To Step Up – Number Seven: Marcus Cooper

The Kansas City Chiefs were caught off guard by the retirement of veteran safety Husain Abdullah.  To complicate matters, it appears that Eric Berry may be in his final season with the team.  The Chiefs are turning to other options.  That includes Marcus Cooper who has struggled at cornerback since he originally broke out as a surprise rookie.

Marcus Cooper has a chance to both redeem himself and help the Chiefs address what could be a huge issue.  So far he has looked good in offseason practices, but he needs a strong Training Camp to get the job for the regular season.  If Cooper works out, he can be an affordable long-term option…kind of like Ron Parker turned out to be.
