The Kansas City Royals have had just about enough of Yordano Ventura and his immature antics. Was Tuesday night’s bush league beaning of Manny Machado enough to push the team over the edge?

When thinking of every player on the Kansas City Royals and possible villains, only one name comes to mind in my eyes, and that’s clearly Yordano Ventura.

Ever since he was brought to Kansas City in 2014, Ventura has been stirring up trouble just about everywhere he goes. Last season fans seemed to be okay with it, mainly because the Royals were on a winning streak, and winning makes the world go round.

Unfortunately, Ventura’s timing with his latest incident was not ideal. The Royals, before Ventura opted to hit Manny Machado of the Orioles with a 99 MPH fastball in the midsection, were riding a five-game losing streak, quickly on their way to six.

The fact that Ventura decided to do this proves that he didn’t have his team in mind. He won’t be the one wearing a pitch the next day, it’ll be one of his teammates. It was an uncalled for move and I, for one, am tired of Ventura’s antics.

Say what you will about Machado chirping during the game and whatnot, Ventura has a history of doing this, and he’s not making the Kansas City Royals look good. The rest of the team seemed agitated too, which leads me to believe that Ventura could be seeing either a demotion soon or possibly even a trade.

Admit it, Royals fans. If Ventura was on any other team in Major League Baseball, you’d hate him.

Yordano Ventura isn’t who he once was as a pitcher. He’s struggling mightily this year, posting a 5.32 ERA and an extremely poor attitude. A guy who was once the Kansas City Royals’ “World Series Hero” in 2014 is now the villain of the organization, and frankly, he doesn’t fit the mold of this team.

Admit it, Royals fans. If Ventura was on any other team in Major League Baseball, you’d hate him. You’d want him suspended, demoted, cut from the team, or whatever punishments are thrown his way for everything he’s done over the last two years.

Since he’s a Royal, however, some fans are just ignoring Ventura’s antics and pretending like the guy is always in the right when he’s far from it.

The other players on the Royals team seemed irritated by Ventura’s actions. Sure, they went and pulled him away from the brawl, but no one seemed too keen on what their teammate did. Maybe it’s just gotten to the point of the rest of the team being tired of this same old crap.

Jeff Passan wrote a piece on Ventura’s actions and the possibilities of him being traded, which I linked above. In that article, Passan reflects on how Ventura is seen throughout the rest of the league and dropped this gem,

"Time exists for Ventura to grow up, if, in fact, that’s something he desires, which it may be, seeing as the team that forever stood by him is willing to offer him up in trades."

I’ve been over the Yordano Ventura show for awhile now and this latest incident is the final straw. I don’t care if it’s trading him or demoting him, whatever it may be, it’s time for Yordano Ventura to be taught a lesson. It’s time for Yordano Ventura to grow up and learn there are consequences for his actions.

We won’t know for sure what Yordano Ventura’s future looks like in Kansas City, but it’ll be an interesting couple of days, that’s for sure.
