The KC Royals are very much still in the thick of things in the American League Central, and a huge series with the Chicago White Sox this weekend could be very telling for how the rest of the season could look.

The guys on this list had some expectations coming into the 2016 season. Two of the pitchers were thought to be staples in the rotation that could give quality starts each time he took the mound, but one has been wishy-washy and the other is on the DL.

The three batters on this list have just not been living up to their potential. We all know that Alex Gordon is capable of mashing the ball, same with Morales. Infante looked to be starting off well this season, but has slumped back to his 2015 self.

If just two of these guys could turn their early season slumps around, the Kansas City Royals could look like an entirely different team. More than likely, Yordano Ventura will be the one to take that step first. He’s looked good at times this season, but hasn’t that always been the case with him?
