KC Royals news is about how the team has fallen under .500 for the first time since midway through the 2014 season.

Kansas City Royals fans are probably falling out of their chairs with the way the team has started this season. The team is 15-16 and third in the American League Central. They’ve dropped below .500 for the first time since the midway point of the 2014 season.

Despite the long slump that’s been effecting the Royals lately, it’s still not time to panic just yet. Baseball is a long season and as long as a team is around the .500 point at the All-Star break, they’re still in a good position to make it to the postseason.

Now the team to watch, however, is the Chicago White Sox. They’re off to a hot start and the Royals can’t afford to play catch up all season long. They need to hang within five or six games of the White Sox if they want to contend for the American League Central title again this season.

The Royals have lost their last three series and are already down one game to the Yankees, a team who is not very good. Now Chris Young pitching at Yankee Stadium wasn’t exactly a recipe for a low scoring game (fly ball pitcher in a home run friendly park… Yeah…), but the Royals need to pick it up over these next two games.

While most Royals fans are likely panicking, there’s still hope. The Royals haven’t been playing well lately, that’s evident, but they’re due for a winning streak.

The offense has been struggling to score runs and the starting pitching has struggled to prevent runs. Both of these aspects will turn it around eventually and even just a short win streak could turn the Royals’ early season struggles around.

During the 2014 season, the Kansas City Royals were in the midst of a losing streak, which caused the players to have a players only meeting. That meeting turned the Royals’ season around, and eventually helped get them to Game 7 of the World Series.

While the Royals aren’t likely thinking about the World Series (they need to get back above .500 first), they need to start getting back in the win column.
