The Kansas City Chiefs took another wide receiver with a troubled past in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL draft.

In the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft, the Kansas City Chiefs took troubled Florida Gators’ wide receiver Demarcus Robinson.

They’ve doubled down on players with a troubled history now as they’ve taken Tyreek Hill out of Division II school Western Alabama.

Hill used to play for Oklahoma State, but a domestic violence charge saw him dismissed from the team in 2014. He caught on with the Division II team and turned in some impressive numbers even though he was playing against lesser competition.

The Kansas City Chiefs seem to have taken a big risk here and jumped out and grabbed a player they likely could have gotten after the draft was over.

Hill wasn’t even projected to get drafted, but his abilities in the slot and in the return game must have been intriguing enough prospects to take a chance on him.

He did put up a blazing 40 yard dash at his pro day. He ran a 4.24 which would be tied for the fastest ever combine result in that department.

Hopefully, he’ll be fast enough to outrun his troubled past and be a contributor for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Here’s what the NFL has to say about the speedy return man:

"Not very tough as a runner. Willing to go quietly into the turf once defender starts to make contact. Hands get shaky when headed into the middle of the field. Feast or famine returner who is too willing to dance and stall waiting for the perfect hole to open up. Was kicked off of Oklahoma State football team and handed three-year probation (August, 2015) after pleading guilty to punching and choking his girlfriend."

Here’s the deal. Personally, I’m giving the Chiefs a big, fat, ugly ‘F’ on this pick. I don’t care how fast a player is or how good he can be on the field, if he’s unable to use those skills and his privilege to play a game as a career in a positive light. I have a very hard time seeing anyone be a ‘role model’ for today’s youth that would do physical harm to anyone, especially the fairer sex. Alright, rant over.

This pick would appear to indicate even further that Knile Davis is likely on his way out. he had requested a trade earlier this off-season and now that they’ve got their return man, there are no spots left for him.
