KC Royals news is about how the team was swept for the first time this season and about how they’re going through a slump in general.

Well, the Kansas City Royals have been swept for the first time of the 2016 regular season, and it was by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The Angels were probably really enjoying themselves these past few days, as they were swept by the boys in blue two seasons ago and as a result, were knocked out of the playoffs.

The KC Royals have been struggling a bit over the past week and now have an away series against the Mariners where they’ll be squaring off against Felix Hernandez on Friday. The Mariners should be a little easier than the Angels, but Hernandez is a true ace in Major League Baseball, so good luck with that, Royals.

The series against the Angels was not pretty though. Both Ian Kennedy and Edinson Volquez struggled for the first time this season and despite Chris Young pitching three no-hit innings, he eventually earned the loss (his third of the season).

I’m not too worried about the Royals bouncing back, but a team to keep an eye on this season is Chicago (the south side team, that is). The White Sox are 16-6 and are proving that their free agent acquisitions are paying off early.

Baseball is a long season, and teams experience slumps all the time. This isn’t anything to really worry over, but if the Royals continue to slump for several more weeks, then we might want to start growing concerned. I don’t anticipate that happening though.

Casual baseball fans might be panicking right now, but the Kansas City Royals are still a good baseball team. All teams hit slumps and rough patches and the Royals happen to be in a fairly deep one right now.

Lorenzo Cain and Alex Gordon are both struggling mightily at the plate, but guys like Jarrod Dyson and Eric Hosmer have been stepping up and getting things done.

It’s a marathon, friends, not a sprint. Remember that.
