KC Chiefs News: Mike Williams Signs With Chiefs
KC Chiefs news focuses on the newest addition to the team and what he brings to the table for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2016.
The KC Chiefs signed wide receiver Mike Williams on Monday to add to their wide receiver depth chart. Williams might not be the flashiest of names out there on the free agent market, but he’s a nice veteran piece joining a team looking to make an impact in the AFC.
Williams has seen some success in the NFL and could end up being a surprising factor for the offense in 2016 and beyond. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he played four seasons before moving onto Buffalo in 2014.
Williams’ best season came during his rookie year when he recorded 65 receptions for 964 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also had a nice year in 2012 with 63 receptions for 996 yards and nine touchdowns.
Mike Williams’ production dropped off after that 2012 season and he spent the 2015 season out of football.
The Kansas City Chiefs currently have Jeremy Maclin as their go to number one receiver. They also have Chris Conley and Albert Wilson, both of whom will be fighting for the number two receiver spot (assuming they don’t draft a receiver early on) and signed Rod Streater earlier this offseason.

Again, Mike Williams might not be a huge name, but he has experience and has a few good seasons under his belt in the pros. If the Chiefs can recapture the good from Williams and he can end up making an impact in Kansas City.
