The KC Royals have owned the Angels over the last couple of seasons. Hopefully, that trend continues.

The Royals roll into a match-up against the Angels on the road and it’s a setting in which they’ve proven themselves to be quite comfortable.

The Royals have won five straight games at Angel Stadium if you include the 2014 playoffs in that mix (and why wouldn’t you?).

In fact, since the start of the 2014 season, the Royals are 12-4 against the Angels overall. They won 6-7 in 2015.

More from KC Kingdom

This year the Angels are last in baseball in batting average, .218, and runs scored, 53. The Royals rank 9th, .258, in batting average and 22nd in runs scored with 64 on the year.

The Royals have 16 home runs on the season which is good enough to make them the 20th best team in baseball in that category. Meanwhile, the Angels are 27th in that category with 11 on the year. Hopefully, the Angels still have 11 when the series ends.

The Angels lead the league with 96 strikeouts which is the fewest in baseball right now. The Royals are in fourth place in that regard with 120 strikeouts on the year.

These two teams shape up very similarly on the mound. The Angels have a team ERA of 3.45 which is ninth best in the MLB and the Royals come in seventh with an ERA of 3.18.

The starting rotation for the Angels has an ERA of 3.16 which is the sixth best mark and the Royals come in tenth with a 3.40 ERA. The bullpen has been the Angels undoing on the mound with an ERA of 3.99 which is 19th in baseball. The Royals on the other hand place sixth with a bullpen ERA of 2.75.
