Omaha Storm Chasers

The only winning record from a Minor League team came from the Omaha Storm Chasers who finished the week 4-3. Not all of their prospects fared so well.

Reymond Fuentes, the KC Royals’ 19th ranked prospect, had a really rough week. Not only was he demoted to Triple-A, he has gone just 2-11 since he returned to the Minor Leagues.

Whit Merrifield, who was a strong candidate to make the opening day roster, is batting just .237 on the season. He was 4-20 this week but he did steal ten bases. He had three games this week in which he stole three bases.

Cheslor Cuthbert has also cooled off after a hot start to the season. He was 5-24 this week but did manage two home runs.

Jorge Bonifacio is having a nice season so far with a .295 batting average on the season. He continued his hot hitting this week by going 8-27.

On the bump, the Storm Chasers didn’t fare too poorly. Earning wins this week were David Huff, Luke Farrell, Brian Duensing, and John Lannan.
