The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the best tight ends in the game in Travis Kelce. Could they look to add another fierce tight end on the opposite side of him?

No one is questioning the efforts of Travis Kelce in Kansas City. He’s one of the team’s best players and has done a lot for the organization since being their third round draft pick in 2013.

With all of that said, however, Kelce is the lone talented tight end on the Chiefs’ roster. James O’Shaughnessy has the potential to be good, but he went on the injured reserve list last year. If the KC Chiefs are wanting to add another possible elite tight end, they should look no further than Hunter Henry out of Arkansas.

Henry is the best tight end prospect in the 2016 NFL Draft and for good reason. In 2015, he was named a Consensus All-American and earned the John Mackey Award (nation’s best tight end) after a season in which he had 51 receptions for 739 yards and three trips to the end zone.

His final stats in three years with the Razorbacks were 116 receptions for 1,661 yards and nine touchdowns. It’s not surprising that Henry decided to forego his senior season and enter the 2016 NFL Draft. He provides a lot of upside for whatever team wants to select him, and it could be the Chiefs in round two.

CBS Sports notes that Hunter Henry is “dangerous” after the catch, which is always promising for KC Chiefs fans. Alex Smith likes to dump the ball off, so if he can get the football to Henry and he can make something happen with his legs, that’s always a welcomed sight for Chiefs fans.

Henry also rarely drops the ball, which is another important aspect for this Chiefs offense.

Some knocks on Hunter Henry, however, is that he’s not a great blocker. He also had a lot of plays that he got away with in college, but will cause him to get penalized in the NFL. Obviously, both of these areas are teachable, but tight ends who can’t block is always a little worrisome.

While I’d love to see the Kansas City Chiefs draft Hunter Henry in the second round, I’m not sure it’s in their best interest. Sure, he’ll likely be a great NFL tight end, but the Chiefs have other greater needs in the second round, and no third round pick will make it more difficult to find good talent at those needy positions.

Would you want the Chiefs to spend a second round pick on Hunter Henry?
