KC Royals news is about the team’s less than stellar offensive outing this past weekend and how they’re now returning home to the confines of Kauffman Stadium.

Before everybody starts freaking out that the Kansas City Royals dropped their first series of the year (and to Oakland nonetheless), remember this: It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

The Royals had a pretty successful road trip for the most part, going 4-3 in seven games against the Astros and the Athletics (three wins in Houston, one in Oakland). That being said, there were some troubling parts to this most recent series in Oakland, and that was how badly the offense struggled to get anything done.

In three games against the A’s, the Royals put up nine runs. The A’s scored ten. The bats have clearly gone chilly for the Royals, and the team needs to take their off day Monday to figure out how to get the offense going again.

Fortunately, the team returns to the K on Tuesday for a three-game series against the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers have shown they could be right back in contention again this season and Kansas City won’t be able to win games against them only scoring two or three runs.

The Royals also square off against the Orioles this weekend, who jumped off to a 7-0 start and looked hot to start the year. The Royals VS the O’s is always a fun match-up and Baltimore has some power hitters. The Royals will hopefully be able to keep up in that series.

The Royals had a winning road trip, which is always a good thing, but these last two games probably stirred up panic with some of the fans. Oakland is not a great team, but the Royals’ bats cooled off.
