KC Chiefs Fourth Round History

Throughout the franchise’s history, the KC Chiefs have not selected a ton of elite players in the fourth round.

That being said, the KC Chiefs did manage to select players who would go on to have unique and memorable careers.

Oddly enough, multiple players on this list hold surprising special teams records.

Many of these players have also made their name in a number of other professional football leagues including the two AFL’s, the CFL, the UFL, and the WFL.

More from KC Kingdom

One unfortunate commonality of the players on this list is that only two of them played for the KC Chiefs for their entire career.

Often times after leaving the KC Chiefs, these players went on to be more productive with other teams then with the KC Chiefs.

This is problematic because it is proven that teams cannot make it to the Super Bowl without building through the draft.

It is one thing to draft players that aren’t good enough to play, it is another thing to let players leave after proving value.

Hopefully the KC Chiefs will not only draft more productive players in the fourth round, but also retain these productive players.

The jury is still out on the KC Chiefs most recent fourth round selection in Thomas, but he has definitely shown versatility and athleticism in his short time with the KC Chiefs.

The KC Chiefs can definitely improve their success drafting in the fourth round, but regardless, the KC Chiefs still have drafted plenty of interesting players.
