Kansas City Chiefs Scouting Report: Jonathan Bullard
The Kansas City Chiefs love to keep their defense as strong as possible. Could drafting Jonathan Bullard early on be something that the Chiefs consider?
The Chiefs are the type of team that relies on their defense to win them football games. They were able to retain a large portion of their free agents this past offseason, including defensive end Jaye Howard, who agreed to return on a two-year contract.
With that said, should the Chiefs look to keep adding at the defensive end position? If so, Jonathan Bullard would be a great target for the Chiefs in the second round.

The KC Chiefs have other more immediate needs to fill in the draft, but they could very well choose to do that in the first round of the draft. If the team gets a cornerback, offensive guard, or safety in round one (arguably their three biggest needs), and Bullard is still on the board in round two, he could be very tempting to a team that loves to put a good defense on the field.

Bullard, a four-year player at Florida, had 175 tackles and 12 sacks during his time in the swamp. Florida has produced some nice defensive players over the past few years, including two first round draft choices in Sharrif Floyd and Dominique Easley. Bullard could be the next player added to that list.
While I don’t see the Kansas City Chiefs taking Bullard in the first round, he’d be a great pick in round two. He’s versatile, playing both defensive end and defensive tackle while with the Gators, and could fit into a 4-3 or 3-4 scheme. Bullard’s a very competitive player and would fit in well with this tough Chiefs defense.
Some knocks on the Florida standout are that he’s always in a hurry and sometimes overruns on plays. Bullard also appears to be somewhat injury prone, though it seems to be reported that he does well with playing through pain, according to CBS Sports.

With the defensive front stacked in Kansas City, I don’t really see the Chiefs going for Bullard. They have other needs to fill, and those are immediate needs for this team.
What are your thoughts on Jonathan Bullard and would you want the KC Chiefs to draft him in the 2016 NFL Draft?
