KC Royals: Top Ten Televised Calls 2015
By Scott Dillon
First: Matt Vasgersian – Correa’s Missed Connection
The Royals staged one of the most epic comeback wins of all-time in this game. They trailed four runs in the top of the eighth due to home runs by Carlos Correa and Colby Rasmus.
If you’re wanting to know how fast an announcer can earn and lose love from a fan base, just listen to Vasgersian call Correa’s second home run of the game.
While Astros’ fans were jumping for joy, Royals’ fans for the most part probably thought it was over. Remember what I said earlier about salt in the wound?
Only a half an inning later, Vasgersian found a way to win back some Royals’ fans with his call of the Correa error that helped the Royals tie the game.
"“Back up the middle. OFF CORREA ON INTO CENTER FIELD! KANSAS CITY HAS TIED IT IN THE EIGHTH!” Matt Vasgersian"
Personally this call is my favorite call of the postseason and of the entire year. What will forever haunt one player and one fan base will send chills down the spines of another.

Everyone has announcers that they love and announcers that they hate just like the players. It’s easy to scrutinize these people because they’re so involved in every play that happens.
While great plays are seen with the eyes, the ears have a great way of triggering those flashbacks in people’s minds.
Hearing these calls may not take a person back to an exact visual depiction of the event, but it does help bring about the same level of excitement and emotion that arose when listening to it the first time.
Some things, good and bad, are just nostalgic in nature. Certain sights and sounds bring people back to different times in their lives.
In sports, these good moments and positive nostalgic flashbacks are fleeting. Before this 2016 season gets under way and everyone becomes fixated on a repeat even more so, take time to relish and relive all of the 2015 successes.
Well what do you think Royals’ fans? What were some of your favorite calls of the 2015 season? Which of these calls did you love? Which calls did you hate? What’s your take on Joe Buck? Let me know your thoughts in the comments’ section below.
