Conspiracy theorists of the world  – UNITE! The KC Royals won their first World Series title in thirty years last fall, but a conspiracy theorist claims the World Series was scripted and rigged.

The Kansas City Royals won the 2015 World Series by beating the New York Mets in five games. Long suffering fans celebrated a return to prominence by the Royals, three decades after Kansas City won the 1985 World Series, in part because of a questionable call by umpire Don Denkinger.

While St. Louis Cardinals fans may still sulk about the results of that Fall Classic, few would go so far as to claim a conspiracy to place to crown the Royals occurred thirty years ago.

There is a YouTube video floating around, made last November, that wants to take away the accomplishment of the Royals’ victory by claiming the World Series was scripted out ahead of time.

The gentleman, who goes by the handle “Stinky CASH” (I know), claims that numerology and anomalies account for the Royals’ championship, not their play on the field.

Just don’t think Stinky CASH is picking on the Royals, mind you. He also makes the wild claim that sports in general, especially football and basketball, are scripted ahead of time.

He cites instances throughout the series, in which he call “anomalies,” that point to a grand conspiracy, in his mind, that led to the defeat of the Mets.

He points out things like how long games took, and the significance of the 111th World Series, ending on 11/1, and Mets’ starting pitcher Matt Harvey throwing 111 pitches in game 5.

He tries to make outlandish statements about how it wasn’t a coincidence the Royals have a player named Lorenzo Cain, a moniker that matches the name of the biblical figure who slew his brother.

The fact that Cain wears the number six on his jersey as a sign that Satan was involved in this conspiracy to rob New York of a world champion is flat out ludicrous.

As far as conspiracy theories go, this one is pretty thin. Even folks who want to argue that Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone or that The DaVinci Code might contain the possibility of some scraps of tiny truths will have a hard time connecting these dots, which are as far apart as the stars in the Milky Way.

The fact that Stinky CASH felt this theory was worth the time to do research, and then to make this video to share with the world tells us that he has way too much time on his hands.

This video should not be taken seriously. The items he presents as proof of his theory are just coincidences and his own delusions. On some points,  you may laugh out loud, and on others, your jaws may just fall open.

It is merely for entertainment only, and even then, it’s not very good entertainment at that.

It just shows you that it takes all kinds to make the world go round.

Don’t worry, fans. The KC Royals won the 2015 World Series fair and square, with their onfield play, and not some scripted version of some goofy reality show from more than ten years ago (Joe Billionaire  anyone?)
