There were a number of plays that could’ve made this list for the KC Royals in 2015. Here are a few that almost made the list.

The Royals made anywhere from 17 to 38 plays on the season and unfortunately there was only room in this list for ten.

There were a number of plays that dazzled the fans and the players as a tip of the cap was a common sight at the ballpark.

The first honorable mention spot belongs to Alex Gordon in the same game that he dove into the stands. On this play he doubled up former Royal Melky Cabrera in a play that showed he used to play third base.

The next play belongs to Mike Moustakas. He made a lot of great plays this season including several in the postseason.

This play sees Mike Moustakas race into foul territory against the Indians to make a diving catch. Maybe the Indians are tired of seeing themselves in the background of the Royals’ highlight videos.

The last honorable mention play goes to Yordano Ventura.

Kansas City already has a soccer team, and it’s a pretty good one at that. If this whole pitching thing doesn’t work out, he could always take up playing soccer. He appeared to have pretty good footwork on this play.

That sums up the honorable mentions for the Royals in 2015. There were many plays that could have been mentioned in this area, but these three stood out among the rest.

Every player on the Royals’ 2015 team seemed to have an impact at some point or another. Even Alex Rios made the occasional diving play, and Eric Hosmer was a picking machine at first base.

If I took the time to breakdown every great play the Royals put up in the past year, this might post sometime after the 2016 season.

More from KC Kingdom

If nothing else, this should be a fun way to build some anticipation for the 2016 season. With most of the core returning, and everyone from this list coming back, the Royals should be due for some more spectacular plays in 2016.

That brand of baseball is part of what makes the Royals so alluring. Going to the ballpark or tuning in to watch a game almost never fails to provide some sort of athletic display. It’s what makes the Royals so fun to watch.
