KC Royals news fixates on how the 2016 projections are unkind to the boys in blue, and about two big names in the Royals’ organization getting extensions.

Spring training began on Thursday, as the pitchers and catchers reported in Surprise, Arizona. That means the MLB season is nearly here.

With the season getting closer to beginning, different sites put out their 2016 projections. Three of the big ones are from PECOTA, FanGraphs, and USA Today, all of whom had the Kansas City Royals losing the division and two had the Royals finishing the season with a losing record.

While it’s frustrating to see the Royals constantly being disrespected by the media, it’s become second nature to Royals fans. We’re used to seeing the nation undermine what these KC Royals are capable of.

A large part of why the Royals have been so good lately has been because of general manager Dayton Moore and manager Ned Yost. Both of these men were rewarded for their hard work and dedication with extensions on Thursday afternoon.

It’s fitting for the organization to keep these guys on for a few more years, as they’re a pivotal role in the Kansas City Royals organization, and will likely continue being so in the coming years.

"While most predictions last season had the Royals returning to the bottom of the American League, this year is quite different. In fact, given the Royals recent run of success, it seems that no one is quite sure what to make of Kansas City this season. That certainly explains the differing opinions this season."

The Royals have proven to be a team that doesn’t need the respect of the nation. They’ve gone to back to back World Series and have had three straight winning seasons. Saying that they’ll have a losing record and finish dead last in the American League Central is laughable.

This just fuels the fire for the players on the Royals squad though, as they’re once again being doubted despite winning a championship in 2015. I don’t get it, but hey… Whatever gets these guys motivated to kick butt is fine by me.
