Kansas City Royals: Proposed Walk Up Music
By Scott Dillon
The KC Royals may not need to find a new song this season, but if they do there are a few options to choose from.
The Royals already have their own music that gets them ready for games and keeps them loose. If they are looking for a new song, there are plenty out there that have to do with champions.
‘We Are The Champions’ by Queen, is a very obvious choice. The Royals are indeed the champions of baseball right now, but why pick a conventional song for such an unconventional team.
‘All I Do Is Win’ by DJ Khaled is another choice that could fit the Royals. For the past two seasons it seems like all they’ve done is win baseball games. This song is overplayed, and I think it can be agreed upon that no one, at least in Kansas City, is tired of seeing the Royals’ win.

‘Started From The Bottom’ by Drake may be the most fitting of these three. No one can argue that the Royals were at the very bottom when they started this journey. They were forever thought of as an underdog. That title is gone now and they’ll have to defend their crown and their kingdom.
The song I propose for the Royals as a team next year is ‘King’ by Weezer. It’s not a well known song, kind of how the players are still fairly unknown outside of Kansas City. There is one lyric in the song that really seems to fit this team well: “If you want to start something, know one thing, I’m King”.
The Royals are in fact ‘Kings’ of baseball right now. They are Royals after all. It’s only fitting that they have a song represent them that depicts them as the champions they are.
