Good News KC Royals Fans! Fox Sports Kansas City is putting the boys in blue on television ten times this spring!

The KC Royals open their season on April third when they square off against the New York Mets. On somewhat of a side note, the Royals will raise their championship banner on opening night. They’ll save their ring ceremony for the second game of the season.

With any luck, Noah Syndergaard will be pitching that second game. He can watch the Royals get their rings from sixty feet six inches away. You can read the full article on the ring presentation here. Before any of these awesome events occur, the Royals have to get through Spring Training.

Spring Training will be here before we know it. Pitchers and catchers are set to report in two short weeks. The rest of the team is set to join them on February 22nd, but a lot of them will probably show up early. Last year they showed up hungry to prove they were no fluke. This year they’ll show up looking to potentially have the word ‘Dynasty’ tied to this team.

Fox Sports Kansas City is going to air an all-time high, ten games, from Spring Training this year. Here’s the complete schedule: (All times are Central Standard Time)

  • 12-Mar, @Arizona, 2:00 PM
  • 15-Mar, @cincinnati, 3:00 PM
  • 18-Mar, @Texas, 7:00 PM
  • 19-Mar, @Texas, 2:00 PM
  • 22-Mar, Los Angeles, 8:00 PM
  • 23-Mar, @Cleveland, 3:00 PM
  • 24-Mar, @Milwaukee, 3:00 PM
  • 26-Mar, Oakland, 3:00 PM
  • 29-Mar, San Francisco, 8:00 PM
  • 1-Apr, @Arizona, 8:30 PM

Getting to see so many Spring Training games is exciting news for a few reasons:

  • Fans will get to see the defending World Champions return to action about a month early. According to the report by FoxSports.com, Royals fans love watching the Royals.

"Royals telecasts averaged a 12.3 household rating during the 2015 MLB season (April 6-October 4), tops in the major leagues and best for any MLB team on a regional sports network since 2002."

Fans will get a chance to see some young players like

Bubba Starling

,

Kyle Zimmer

, and

Raul Mondesi

. Getting to see some future Royals’ stars getting some game action will only further develop the fans connection to the team. Getting to see what they can do in real life as opposed to statistics or highlight reels will give some real insight into their ability.

  • Fans get to watch the internal competitions for second base, right field, and a spot in the rotation. Omar Infante and Christian Colon will likely compete for the starting job at second base. Jarrod Dyson and Paulo Orlando are the favorites for right field but new addition Travis Snider and several fringe prospects could make it interesting. The Rotation is anyone’s guess with Yordano Ventura, Edinson Volquez, and Ian Kennedy the only real locks in the rotation.
  • Baseball season is rapidly approaching and all of the questions created for the Royals this off-season will soon be answered. Did Dayton Moore put together a ‘winner’ again in 2016? Only time will tell. For now, sit back, relax, and get in as much Royals’ baseball as you can while the ‘gettin is good’.
