The 2015 KC Royals have come a long way from the team they were in 2005.

There were times over the last couple of decades the Royals’ fans wondered if they would ever make the playoffs again, let alone back-to-back World Series appearances.

Dayton Moore and company have done a lot to make the Royals competitive. While it was sometimes difficult to ‘see the forest through the trees’, all of the pieces fell into place.

For those fans that have watched the Royals over the last ten years, there has been a lot of hard times. The hard times actually extend beyond 2005, but it was as good a starting point as any.

The Royals have given fans a lot to be thankful for these past two years. There is a new excitement and energy surrounding the baseball team and in Kansas City in general.

Baseball is just a game, but this team is loved by it’s city and it’s fans. When the Royals put it all together it felt like a victory for the underdogs for a change.

Kansas City had been irrelevant in the sporting world for decades and suddenly the world was forced to pay attention.

It’s really incredible how different things can be in only ten years. It’s a reminder to really take time to make memories now and enjoy the present status of things because ten years from now could be very different.
