Chase Daniel will always be loved by Kansas City natives, both for his work as a Mizzou quarterback and as the backup for the Chiefs.

Unfortunately, sometimes fan favorites have to depart and go where they’re needed. Daniel could be a starter for the right team, but it won’t be in Kansas City, and there won’t be a need to keep him here when the team still has Tyler Bray and Aaron Murray on the roster to backup Smith.

While Bray and Murray don’t have the experience suiting up every weekend, both have remained with the team for multiple years. This shows that John Dorsey believes in them and believes one of them could potentially be the future solution.

The interesting thing regarding Chase Daniel will be if he receives offers to start for any teams. Out of the ones listed here, Philadelphia, Houston, or Los Angeles are the only ones likely to offer him a starting position. Houston would seem the most likely out of those options.

Another interesting scenario mentioned by my co-editor, Scott Dillon, is what if Denver signed Chase Daniel? They probably won’t have Peyton Manning next year and who knows if they’ll re-sign Brock Osweiler? I don’t really see Chase Daniel as a Bronco, but you never know.

It should be an interesting offseason for the Kansas City Chiefs, and Chase Daniel will play a small part in it. The team has several other players hitting free agency as well, but they’re not local guys like Daniel is. It’ll be sad to see him go.
