KC Chiefs News: Free Agency and 2016 Schedule

facebooktwitterreddit

KC Chiefs news this morning focuses on all of the free agents the Chiefs will have this off season, and about who is on the team’s schedule for next season.

The Kansas City Chiefs‘ 2015 season came to an end on Saturday when they fell to the New England Patriots in the AFC Divisional Round in Foxborough. It was an exciting season, but now the Chiefs must shift their attention to the off season phases, which begins with free agency.

The Chiefs have a lot of guys hitting the free agent market this off season, including some big names like Eric Berry, Tamba Hali, Derrick Johnson, and Sean Smith. Those are just the bigger names though, as other guys like Husain Abdullah, Mike DeVito, and Jaye Howard are also scheduled to become free agents.

With the amount of impact players the KC Chiefs will have hitting the market, it’s doubtful that they’ll be able to retain all of them. They can use the franchise tag on one player, but the rest they will have to either sign or let walk away from the organization.

It could be a huge hit on the team heading into the 2016 season, where the Chiefs will face their usual slew of AFC West rivals. They’ll also square off against the AFC South, NFC South, and second place teams from the rest of the AFC divisions.

Road games against the Colts, Panthers, and Steelers stand out as what could prove to be tough games this season. The Chiefs will get the Jets, a playoff caliber team, at home.
