Fans can say what they want, but when it comes down to it, I’d say this season was a success.

Sure, the ultimate goal for any NFL team is to win the Super Bowl, but for the Kansas City Chiefs, winning a playoff game was the first step in getting to a Super Bowl NEXT SEASON. I really think that if the core of this team is still together next season, that they could do something special.

A large part of why this team struggled in this one was due to injuries. Jeremy Maclin, Justin Houston, and the offensive line were all banged up in this game and it really hurt the Chiefs.

Also, Kansas City wasn’t accustomed to playing against playoff caliber teams. Like I mentioned on a previous slide, playing bad teams helped get the Chiefs to the playoffs, but it didn’t prepare them for it.

The Houston Texans weren’t a great team and that’s why the Chiefs handled them with ease last weekend. The New England Patriots are a completely different breed though, and the Chiefs would have to play a nearly perfect game in order to beat them.

Now, we move to the off season. Free agency begins in March and the 2016 NFL Draft will be taking place at the end of April.

Cheers, Kansas City. It was a good year for the sports teams in our town.
